Timeout in CAN communication from Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) node
* Check CAN connection to SAS unit * Check power supply connection to SAS unit • Check wiring and connectors for the CAN-bus • Measure the resistance (with the battery disconnected) between pins B1 and B10. It should be approximately 60 ohm (one 120 ohm termination resistor in each end of the CAN-bus). • I none of the solutions above helps, replace the SAS unit.
What you'll see
No driver-visible symptom recorded.
System reaction
• Functions dependent on information from SAS are degraded.
Diagnostic depth
The DTC is set active if the CAN message SAS_Prop has been absent for 200 ms. The DTC is set inactive when the CAN message SAS_Prop is received. The DTC is not set in the following cases: • ignition is turned off • first 2 seconds after ignition on • system voltage is below 22 volt • system voltage is above 30 volt • short circuit or open circuit on the CAN bus (separate DTCs)
* SAS unit disconnected from the CAN bus * SAS unit has not power supply * Faulty SAS unit
