Reductant circuit

â–¶ How to fix

Proceed as follows: Carry out the test "Checking the reductant circuit" using SDP3 under EEC3>Inspection>Guided troubleshooting. If the speed of the reductant pump is too low when the pressure is built up, the test will be terminated. If the test is terminated: Check whether the reductant in the reductant circuit has frozen. When the pressure is built up it should be possible to hear the reductant pump start. Listen for the sound. If the reductant pump cannot be heard to start, the reductant pump has probably stuck. If the reductant pump is heard to start, despite the fault code persisting, the connectors or electrical cables of the EEC control unit may be defective. Check the connectors and electrical cables between the EEC control unit and the reductant pump. If the connectors and electrical cables are intact, and the reductant in the reductant circuit has not frozen, renew the reductant pump. When the fault has been rectified the fault code can be deactivated by carrying out the test "Checking the reductant circuit" using SDP3.

What you'll see

No driver-visible symptom recorded.

System reaction

No system-reaction text recorded.

Diagnostic depth

Detection

The reductant pressure does not increase and the reductant pump rotational speed sensor indicates too low a value.

Possible cause

Possible causes: Fault in the reductant pump. Fault in the reductant pump rotational speed sensor.
