Two of temperature sensors in the aftertreatment system(T158) are faulty.

â–¶ How to fix

- Check for fault codes related to HTS, temperature / fuel / injectors / boost / air system / Air mass flow sensor. - Compare the temperature sensors via SDP3,See workshop test ( pairwise test ) . - Check fuel system for malfunctioning injectors etc. via SDP3. - Controll all possible damages to cables. - Low engine oil level can indicate an oil leakage. - Dismount the flexpipe from the muffler - Look for fuel/oil leakage in the exhaust system between engine and muffler. - Look for black/white smoke at accelerations for potenial faults on injectors or air/fuel relationsship. - Clear white smoke indicates hydrocarbons which can trigger this faultcode. To verify repair, run the vehicle at loaded condition for up to 60 min or run the pairwise workshop test.

What you'll see

MIL lamp turns on. Filter regeneration is not running. Torque is decreased.

System reaction

- MIL lamp is lit and all filter regeneration is blocked. - This fault affects the aftertreatment protection. Torque reduction will be activated. - If fault is not healed, then further torque reduction and speed limitation will be activated.

Diagnostic depth

Detection

ECU indicates that temperature sensors in the aftertreatment system are faulty.

Possible cause

- Faulty temperature sensors. - Faulty HTS unit. - Connecting cables between EMS and AMS unit are damegaed. - Leakage of oil/fuel into the muffler e.g. from diesel injectors in cylinder or exhaust system (V185). - Modified exhaust system - low airflow through aftertreatment system.
