ECU hardware memory failure
1. Check electrical installation in vehicle for non-certified third party equipment(*) and disconnect these. 2. Check for available software updates/campaigns. 3. If the problem remains (the DTC reappears after erase), after the above actions, replace the ECU (E112). (*) The sensitivity, for equipment with high EMC radiation, is increased in an EMC emitting environment. This could for example be radar stations (airport/military), electric distribution plants, electrical switch towers, transformer stations, steel works, electric welding, etc. Verify that the issue is solved by performing a Diagnostic SelfTest (requires Parking Brake to be applied) - If the root cause fault has been fixed, this DTC will be set passive.
What you'll see
No driver-visible symptom recorded.
System reaction
Red Steer tag axle fault warn EST in released or fixed mode
Diagnostic depth
The EST ECU has detected an internal fault in the MCU (micro controller) - a memory cell has corrupted data.
• Exposure to extensive electro-magnetic radiation • ECU hardware failure • Non-certified third party equipment is installed (*) (*) The sensitivity, for equipment with high EMC radiation, is increased in an EMC emitting environment. This could for example be radar stations (airport/military), electric distribution plants, electrical switch towers, transformer stations, steel works, "electric" welding, etc.
