Plausibility test indicates OMV stuck in open position

â–¶ How to fix

1. If the fault only occurs at very low temperatures(-30C), the oil might have to be replaced. See service litterature for recommended oil quality in cold climate. 2. If the oil is contaminated, the oil will have to be replaced together with the oil filter. See service litterature for recommended oil quality. When the fault has been corrected, reperform a Diagnostic SelfTest. 3. Check for other active OR passive DTCs, that could explain the root cause (electrical fault). 4. Check connnectors: - Disconnect harness connectors on both ECU side, and NMS(V197) side. - Visually check connectors for defects connecting E112 and V197. 5. Check solenoid: - Disconnect harness connector on both ECU side, and NMS(V197) side. - Measure the resistance on the solenoid component between pins V197::1 and V197::2. - Should be 8 ohm at +20°C - Resistance shoul be in the area 6.1-9.9 ohm depending on temperature in the solenoid. 6. Mechanical failure for the NMS V197 or its hydraulic valve, replace the valve unit assemby. Verify that the issue is solved by performing a Diagnostic SelfTest (requires Parking Brake to be applied) - If the root cause fault has been fixed, this DTC will be set passive.

Detection

OMV stuck in open position when tested during Diagnostic SelfTest.

Possible cause

OMV can not reach closed position so that piston can steer there is some form of leakage in the CVU. • Extremely low temperatures will cause oil to solidify, thus prevent the valve from closing • Debris in the oil prevents the hydraulic valve from closing • Mechanical failure in the hydraulic valve • Faulty solenoid • Electrical fault in wire and/or connector - should trigger any of DTC 020F, 0211
