Spare parts program the control unit using SDP3 (XCOM, Gadget).. If this does not help, renew the control unit.
What you'll see
No driver-visible symptom recorded.
System reaction
For vehicles with automatic gearbox or automatic manual gearbox: The system goes into locked gear until the control unit is configured correctly. For vehicles with retarder: Retarder braking does not work. The yellow retarder warning is displayed in the instrument cluster. For vehicles with manual gearbox: Gear-changing with splitter gear and range gear is not possible.
