System reaction
The automatic/manual push button shall be inhibited (i.e., not possible to switch from automatic to manual mode or vice-versa). When the error is confirmed (after 5 seconds), a DTC (0x0208) together with a yellow gearbox malfunction warning lamp shall be set. However, automatic gear change mode shall be forced if the vehicle is in manual mode and the gear up and down shift switches are also broken.
