Checksum error on CAN-message Powertrain Control 5
Check if any Checksum fault codes are present. If yes, follow the actions for those fault codes. Check the wiring and connectors on TMS (E5) and the BCI. Check if the BCI has any DTCs and troubleshoot those. If none of the above helps renew the BCI and then renew the TMS (E5).

The software calculates a checksum on the data of the PTC5 CAN message that has been received. It then compares this with the checksum attached to the same message by the sending node. A fault code is set if the checksums don't match for a specified amount of messages,
Mismatch in communication between the BCI and TMS. Possible reasons for the fault are a high load on the CAN bus or faulty BCI software.
